Welcome to RRATS CATS RESCUE/SANCTUARY
At RRATS CATS RESCUE/SANCTUARY, we are dedicated to helping stray and unwanted cats find their perfect home. We are located in Thamesmead but operate in and around south east London and local areas. We work towards our promise on the three R's - Rescue, Rehabilitate and Rehome. We truly believe that every cat has a suitable home out there and we aim to find it for them, which is why we are a No-Kill rescue.
This rescue was started in October 2024 after the founder rescued 1 cat, which quickly turned into more and a realisation that this was only a minute number of cats needing help. our founder started rescuing cats personally since 2014 where she would ask other rescues for help to get cats support, she then went on to rescue and adopt 10 cats of her own as well as some others she rehomed. After the 10th cat the realisation come along that we could make a difference but not keep any more.
The severity of major cat rescues being fully populated meant cats were being left until space was available and more unwanted litters were born and this is where RRATS cats rescue came about. With a mission to help get cats off the street, prevent future litter, and give cats the best chance at finding their happy ending.
We pride ourselves on believing all homes can be suitable for the right cat, whether you're in a flat, house or boat we work with the cats in front of us to make sure they're suited to their adopters home and lifestyle.
We are a small rescue and rely solely on public donations as we are not government funded. Below is a link to our easy fundraise page which allows us to get donations when you shop online. Its free and easy to use but makes a difference to us.
What does our name mean? RRATS our founders surname initial R and her 3 children's initials R A T.
How is it pronounced RATS the double R is just for fun
